Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

morning all
odd question
I know about (and do occasionally get) snotty noises from pool swimming but I am getting very snotty when open water swimming
To the extent I have to wipe my nose as I swim!
I can't get on with a nose clip as I have a little nose and they don't stay put!
Any suggestions?

Go with it :)

I also get v snotty when I open water swim. Also have to wipe my nose. Figure the lake is big enough to deal with my snot.

well that was my view but I wondered if there was any smart solutions! LOL

I've taken an anti histamine thinking pollen but that's not made much difference!

I also get a lot of water in my ears and being hard of hearing tend to go deaf! LOL

I also wondered about pollen as there's a lot of flower-stuff in the lake, but I'm not usually allergic to pollen. I do tend to snot, though, generally (sorry TMI)

I don't like ear plugs as my hearing is shit (I wear aids on land!) so using plugs means I hear nothing! Which is a potential safety issue

All my open water swimming is done in the sea and I also get very snotty - assume this is due to my sinuses getting a cool saline rinse. I clear my nose while swimming by blowing some sharp breaths out through it. As Linds said, I figure the sea is big enough to handle it!

I also take the view that it's good for my sinuses.

I get a very irritated nose when swimming. I use a nose clip and use a nasal spray, which really seems to help. Something like Becodefense, I think...
