Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I won't be getting in until much later in the season. The circulation in my hands is just too poor.

It'll be the sea for me from mid-April. I haven't rejoined the lake, which is giving me pangs of regret, but for the number of times I'm likely to go it really wasn't cost-effective.

I'm just really sad that our lido couldn't re-open today and it'll be May before it does. However there's good news today in that a new 35 year lease has been agreed with the council, which will open some new funding sources, so its future has been secured for a good long while now.

Just make sure you thoroughly warm up before you start driving home sushi. A brisk walk as well as your warm drink. Sitting still for that long will not help.

Our Lido opened today. It was lovely, not yet up to the usual 21 degrees but just heavenly being back in.

No swim but a five minute skins dip in the sea at Seaford just now.

About 8 degrees now warming up in the sunshine with a mug of tea 😀

Nice one Adrian :-)

I am debating

1: Walk to the beach tonight in my wetsuit with towel and other stuff and go for a swim at around 5:30pm high tide. The beach will be busy, but the sea conditions are flat and the air temp is warm enough I think for me to be able to walk back without getting too cold (approx 15 mins)

2: Hold on until 6am tomorrow, first light and high tide, minimum swell. I could take the car and stick my DryRobe in for afterwards. Should be quiet then, but more faffage with car, keys etc.

Sushi.
Llyn Tegid was beautiful today.

Swam 500m crawl. Just took a few mins holding my face in to acclimatise and I was ok.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
