The Serpentine is reopening tomorrow but it's only 9 degrees! :-o

If I was really brave I could go next weekend. Even if I don't manage any actual swimming it might be good to try and acclimatise again.

I know it well D2 being local and I can imagine how lovely it would have been in the sunshine today. Unfortunately I'm busy with work/courses at the minute but I am doing a whole different kind of swimming in the sunshine tomorrow 😃

Sounds lovely D2.

I got in the sea for the first time this year today :-) Sea temp approx 7C, but air temp was around 12C this morning.

Fully wetsuited booted and gloved and I was only in the water for about 10 mins total, but it was lovely. Essential organs and torso actually felt warm in my Huub wetsuit and my feet were bearable in Blueseventy socks, but my hands were cold for a long time and I kept having to take them out of the water.

I really wanted to get in before it gets busy and the swell picks up again later in the week. Wish I'd stayed in longer, but I will wait for it to warm up a bit.

Sushi.
I seriously considering driving down to Bala tomorrow for a dip

Even if it’s only for 10mins I reckon it’ll be worth the 50 min drive each way.

Reckon lots of flasks of hot drinks to help warm me up after should do the trick.

Sounds great, Scribbs. Had an email saying the venue isn't doing hot drinks so flasks will be needed Sat

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
