My local swimming lake has extended the lap/loop this weekend to something like 600M loops. I've managed to get on the 'circuits' session tomorrow morning at 10:00 for some focused swimming. My Zoggs Flex Predator goggles finally perished on Wednesday and snapped on the nose bridge! I'd only been thinking how they'd lasted so long. Had to get a quick delivery from Wiggle of some similar mirror ones not in the size I would've chosen but they seem OK. Goggles sold out all over the place.

What do other people use on here? I loved my Predator Flex but they're not specifically open water.

Aquasphere Kayman I think. Or Cayenne. The more angular of the two.

Kayenne. Silly me.

I've got about 3 pairs of Predator Flex on the go. Love them.

Indoors I tend to use Speedo racing goggles and sometimes Swedish hand-tied sauna goggles.

I've got a pair of those. Leak, hurt like hell but cooler than a penguin's bum.

Those Kayenne things didn't fit me.

Just leaked when I got in the water. And hurt my face massively on the bridge of my nose. Couldn't wear them for more than 2mins.

I think I've got some DHB ones from Wiggle.

I've got a pair of Predators for OW swimming too, the polarized ones. There's a leg of Queenford Lakes that's always into the sun in the evenings and the polarization really helps with the glare off the water.

The nose bridge does seem quite flexy compared to my pool googles (BlueSeventy), I'm not surprised that's the first bit to break.

I've got a pair of Predators but they hurt my eye socket. Too mean to replace them tho.

I've had those polarized Predators for years. No leaks, no problems other than a bit of misting. Nice kit.

I've got Aquasphere ones but I forget what the name is. They've got black lenses but I don't think they're specially designed for OW. I use them in the pool as well. Fit nicely and normally don't leak.

Hello everyone! I'm new to open-water swimming, so I'm happy if you share some newbie-tips. I used to swim in a club as a child, but didn't swim regularly for a very long time, so I'm slowly building thi up again, longest swim so far was 1 mile, but with breaks. I'm usually swimming in the sea around Helsinki - which is, by the way, a heaven for open-water-swimming.

There didn't seem to be a thread devoted to open water swimming, so I thought I'd start one.
