Pity about the poor start for the men's fours. May not have made any difference to the outcome but it's another medal.

And I saw saw there’s been more medals in rowing this morning than the whole of rowing in Tokyo.

BBC messing about with the hockey coverage and only returned to the GB v France match just as GB converted a penalty stroke.

More controversy in the boxing as an Algerian (who has failed testosterone tests) broke their opponent's nose and forced her to quite in less than a minute. Very worrying as this is a clear example of the danger to female boxers.

Bad news for Team GB according to BBC Sport:

"Former 1500m world champion Jake Wightman has been forced to withdraw from the Olympic 800m because of a hamstring injury. Wightman was a big medal hope for Great Britain. He has been replaced by Elliot Giles in the men's 800m."

That’s a great pity, Wightman will be gutted 🙁

Sorry late to this. I’m in full agreement on the walking is a pants sport. The British guy had some stuff on the bbc live text saying he didn’t get the respect he deserved, and they trained really hard etc. that’s all well and good but it’s still rubbish.

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
