Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

@DrMags I started off with YFS by just doing the prerecorded sessions and found these good as they are shorter chunks than the live sessions. I added the live sessions after about 3 months but I now tend to wait for the replays so that I can fast forward through the bits I don’t want ( eg some of the breakout rooms).

That sounds a good approach @lin50 - I like your attitude ☺️

Followed the replay of yesterday’s YFS Yoja Ninja Bootcamp today (relevant parts only) and was impressed. Using the accepted terminology, I “stacked my shit” and trusted in the “oh shit” moment. Getting into Crow Pose, I first leaned forward far enough that both feet felt “light” so I could raise them easily. That was a breakthrough for me, I’ve always been trying to pick up my feet when I wasn’t tipped forward enough, so just tipped back almost immediately. I also fell on my face, which is apparently a “good” sign, and I’m wearing the bruises on the backs of my upper arms as a badge of Ninja honour 😂 But I held Crow Pose, yay. Only for about 1-2 seconds, but I now know how to do it, so know I can improve from here. But not today, arms are too trembly!

I’ve barely done any yoga this year, preferring Pilates these days, but after a really shitty couple of days work, stressing and not sleeping, I walked away from the laptop to do days 4 and 5 of Prana. So glad they don’t start cross-legged like days 2 and 3 as that’s a physical impossibility for me. And while I don’t feel serene, I am calmer. After @RooA ‘s warning, thought I’d leave Day 6 for another time. Now back to work.

Lol. It was quite a lot. I had core DOMS the day after, but I'd also done a pilates session straight after! Day 7 was nice, although she threw in a cheeky boat pose at the end which was nice with the DOMSy core.

I sometimes kneel instead of cross-legged if its going to be a while. Getting better though, but it has taken a long time of regular yoga to see the change.

I always use a block to sit cross-legged, it's easier than it was - and not painful now, but that's after 4 years!

I had to see a physio about a quad strain I got trying to sit cross legged. He said there’s lots of people who don’t have the right hip shape to sit cross legged and I’m one of them and so was he. I just sit on my heels now instead.

I’m still following Charlie on her 30 day beginner videos. Day 8 completed today. I’m enjoying them.

Cross legged is not too bad for me but kneeling on the other hand is really difficult. I think my quads are too tight.

I'm similar LN - can do it for a really short time only!
