Rapidly approaching veteran status in races, I began running in my 40s in an attempt to get the energy to keep up with my 3 young boys. And I haven't stopped. Join a club is my best advice, and we have a great one locally, which even welcomes runners like me - the back of the pack runner, who enjoys the chat with other runners and the odd challenge. My proudest achievement is that all 3 boys, now in their 20s, all run, inspired, I like to think, by me.
