Gobi
start with 3 and aim for 5 off about 60 -90 seconds recovery
Be realistic about the pace, this is not 5 x smash it so almost worth running current 5km pace to start and then chipping a few seconds off.
I know why SPR is laughing :¬)

I've always felt I have to work harder to even get below average results.
People my height/old weight were going much faster than me it's frustrating now of course I'm slower cause I'm tubby (13.7)

Diogenes
The thing that interests me is that I am pretty average but however many miles I racked up in training I don't think there is anyway that I could sustain 7mm (or jsut under) for 26 miles.
I don't have any plans to run another marathon at the moment, but I really don't believe that everyone is capable of a sub-3 marathon given the right training and suggesting so leads people to set themselves targets they can never achieve.
That sounds very negative, whereas I am all for setting challenging goals, but they have to be realistic too.
