I did an hour in the heavy duty gym at Lee Valley today and felt much better for it.

Also shared a moan there with another woman about the hulking great blokes who leave weights and bars where they drop them. Grrrrrrr!

NB - I do NOT mean the sprinters or jumpers!

Yes Sharkie, and I have a sports massage booked for tomorrow, what a treat! 😉
As you say, work hard and rest hard is definitely satisfying 😊

A sports centre close to where I live put out a Facebook post saying, "If you aren't able to lift your weights and bars back on to the rack when you've finished with them, let us know and one of the girls will do it for you."

:)

I feel like I need a rest, but it's work more than exercise, I fear.

I have had three total rest days this week.

Monday - scheduled rest day
Tuesday - work got in the way
Today - very sore from last night’s most excellent sports massage so I made what I believe to be a sensible decision

Monday, which is my rest day, I do body pump (a gym class with dumbbell and barbell weights to music, in case anyone doesn't know the Les Mills brand!) but it counts as "rest" because I do it with very light weights (except chest and shoulders, which I justify as having had almost no work for rest of week, cost running doesn't touch them!)

And the girls lift heavier than me. By miles! :-) G

I ended up with two rest days this week, which I mentally justifying as still being partly in recovery from the nasty flu virus type thing that knocked me out in the middle of the month.

I've also had to redraw my training plan after deciding to give upon Wrexham half and joining a second rugby club. Rest days move around depending on matches and week days feature a light stretchy active recovery type session in the morning after a big hitting full contact session the evening before.

I'm feeling good about it :D

About This Thread

Welcome to what may be the least watched, least contributed to, thread ...ever.

It's for everyone (well, me) that thinks real Rest Days are vital and a grand thing in themselves. And for everyone (well, me) who feels that one day at a time DONE WELL is always better than half arsed for-evers.

There will be RULES of course (my ball, my game)
