I know the thread claims to love ZERO days ... but that was mainly for effect and to help challenge the tyranny of streaking and overtraining. What's really important (as in just about every area of life) is balance.

I've had some really time consuming NOTHINGS the past few days: problems that needed sorting out by sitting with a phone glued to my ear. Very frustrating and time wasting but had to be done.
Consequently I've had to tailor my training to fit with what time was left for it (once work was also accounted for) It can be tricky even for a semi retired, no dependents person like me.

I've neeed to bin a planned upper body session yesrterday - doing sprint hills and yoga was enough, which I suspect was llargely down to the frustrations of Friday and Saturday. So yeah, life gets in the way.

Thanks guys. It was physical rest (or break from running - having done cross country East District league race on Sat (ouch!) and 16 hilly miles on Sunday) so it's fine. Just very sad. Looking forward to a very gentle lunch time run. Then probably Pilates tonight, or if not a class then at least do my own foam roller and stretching. I'm tiiiigggghhhhttt!
Sharks, that sounds like a stressful admin weekend. Hate those. G

Looking like a real zero-day for me. I'm stuck on the sofa with an injured and stressed dog. Can't even log a walk with him as they're only five-minute potters. Once the window fitters have gone I shall need to yoga or something!

Virtue of necessity yesterday with a nearly zero day - only beginners, which is still very low effort. Looking forward to a swim tomorrow.

You've been full on training today if I rightly recall, Trin... so that rest day sounds great!
I've had several disrupted days in a row, bits and pieces of training here and there, not 'quite' sure what/how much to do with a mid week race looming and then over in a flash.
It's made me think again how unsatisfactory I find 'bitty' training. (This is just my opinion obvs) It's why I'm not keen on the non-zero days option. It's like doing a weights session with dinky 1kg or 2kg weights when you should be using 5s at the very least. Nothing against keeping moving - but I really do find the work hard rest hard thepry much more practical and satisfying!
