Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Also, I binned the interval session on Wed that the club was doing (pyramids from 100m up to 200m and back down, all at eyeballs out pace!) on the basis that I was feeling a bit tight and stiff. So I jogged the 5 miles around rugby pitches while they hared up and down. That's a sort of rest! :-) G

I suspect those may be larger than standard pitches, G (though when you've got a particularly loopy 16 year old at number 12 who thinks nothing of tacking from one side of the pitch to the other at light speed and you've got to try and be there when she finally get knobbled most pitches do feel about half a mile wide, in my experience)

5 miles was many, many laps of 3 adjacent rugby pitches Raemonder, not just once round one pitch!

And I strongly believe a game of rugby, esp at 12/13 (I was a centre) is much, much harder than a 5 mile jog! :-) G

As a forward I heartily agree. I swear half the time you backs are more interested in making us follow you around than in scoring tries.

Backs in my day were allowed to run around avoiding being touched and usually without bothering with the ball. Was a great way to ensure not getting dirty or hurt. Well, wingers anyway. Outside and esp inside centres did a bit more nobbling! Nowadays the backs are the size of forwards and can run 100m in 10s too. Scary. Fair play to you Raemonder! :-) G

Had a lovely swim today - and 5 minutes in the sauna afterwards which was very relaxing.

I am sure rugby that was played TODAY by actual people rather than idle musing on the nature of the game back in the day is as admissible as swimming that was done today :)

OK then, my resting part of TODAY is to yack about rugby wot I played in the 80s with Raemondo, who may or may not be playing rugby today?!

*harrumphs off. Takes ball too. Rugby ball.* :-) G

Welcome to what may be the least watched, least contributed to, thread ...ever.

It's for everyone (well, me) that thinks real Rest Days are vital and a grand thing in themselves. And for everyone (well, me) who feels that one day at a time DONE WELL is always better than half arsed for-evers.

There will be RULES of course (my ball, my game)
