Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Let's talk about inaugural parkruns after they've happened.

At the weekend there was a trial run (about 50 runners) in Oswestry, Shropshire. I believe that they are hoping to launch officially very soon. Excited for this as I have never done a park run. (Hangs head in shame)

Where in Oswestry is it? There's been talk of the British Ironworks Centre and Henley Wood recently.

I think Henley Wood, Oswestry was mentioned a few pages back, along with Aberbeeg and Parc (HMP Parc).

I am interested in seeing the Aberbeeg one, because Aberbeeg is a three-street mining village, with no car park bigger than 10 cars. Which means it could be more Six Bells than Aberbeeg...or it is up above Aberbeeg in the open country/sides of the valley (which would be exciting).

I hope Parc parkrun doesn't get mixed up with Parke parkrun!

Excellent - within running distance of my parents house - although it would involve crossing the A5.

There may be an inaugural parkrun happening near you. Best to check with the local parkrun volunteers to see if they want you to know about it or not.

Otherwise there are plenty of already established parkruns to go to in the UK and abroad, see: parkrun.org.uk
