Mine would be rough under foot, with sharp climbs and descents, no flat, and definitely no tarmac. Lyme Park is the only place I've found that get close yet.

I'd make it like Falkirk, except the hill would not be as high.
My second course would be like Strathclyde, but with tree cover for most of it. (And a new layer of tarmac.)

You should visit Drumchapel sometime Flanker, I think it would suit. As might Plean mostly, although it has a bit of tarmac.

V - planning on enjoying Whinlatter in about 10 days I’d feel a bit guilty travelling to Scotland just to run 5k unfortunately.
The other one I’d recommend is Wepre. Killer hill. Twice
