Nice one Sharkie - I'm currently doing 4 sets of 5 2 reps at 2kg below my body weight, I'll be doing that very soon :-)

So according to my training log I've done 54 hours of cross>>weights this year. So why haven't I got a badge this morning? "Wha wha" :-(

I think most of mine was logged as Cross - Strength rather than Cross - Weights, I only recently noticed that was an available option.

Possible good news for those of us whose pull ups are limited to the lowering phase.

Nice. Still an "assisted with band dangler" with pullups here. My last few attempts at barbells curls have also had my PT helping me on the lift, but leaving me to do the lowering.

I tend to pay attention to the eccentric phase of a lift anyway. This often involves 'fast up, slow down' as a principle - although up and down varies and might be push and pull or whatever.

A well known ( in his field) jumps coach is VERY keen on emphasising the eccentric phase.

I started pull ups four or five years ago with Marlon, my coach at the time. He identified my hyper mobile shoulders as an issue if not a problem and I just did a few sessions using a band with him assisting.

It's a good show off move -I'd love to be able to do it, don't get me wrong - but no coach since has given it any importance for me. I like hanging from a bar and lifting my legs parallel to the floor, which I find really hard. That was a favourite of my jumps coach for his group. I was actually excused on account of age ... which made me go away and practice. Natch!
