Oh and don’t watch the CrossFit games, they are mental and even the good people at our gym are nowhere near that lot 😂 It’s interesting that we have loads more women at our gym than men. It helps that we have pro-rugby players running it so they keep everyone in line 😊

I love the CrossFit Games! Whenever I feel in a rut with exercise I watch them to motivate me. I feel like if these people can achieve these superhuman things, then I can get my arse in gear and get out for a run/swim/some circuits. Sam Briggs is my hero 1) because she's British and 2) because I like watching her beat all the men on the runs!
Maybe CrossFit is worth looking at while I'm thinking about what to do next. The Box near me offers a 3 month membership so I could try it out during the autumn and then make a decision...I'll see if I can persuade my usual exercise buddy to try it with me. Suspect not, sadly

If you can do it for 3 months then it’s worth a go.
It’s one of those things you either hear people rave about or completely slate but each box is really different and so it’s best to try it and see what you think.

Another option is to ask your PT to recommend someone else for you to work with..? If PT has worked so well for you for so long - don’t fix it if it’s not broken...? Unless you are using this as an opportunity for change - in which case, embrace it and go for it

The PT says she has been 'interviewing' other PTs on the island to find people who would be suitable to take on different clients, so that's an option too. I think what this is really making me realise is that I've been cruising, and now I need to decide what I want. Do I want to build on what I'm already doing, or embrace change? I've got a couple of months to decide, but I need to start thinking about it now so I don't just take the path of last resistance (in either sense of the word!)

I do crossfit too LL. I really enjoy it but atm it's difficult for me to get there regularly so I've paid for some sessions with one of the coaches there. Maybe that's an option at the box you're looking at? They will work with you for what you want and can also identify areas of weakness to work on. My stability is my main issue but my flexibility is good, my OH is the opposite but we do the sessions together and he just gives us both slightly different things to do. Most boxes will also do beginners sessions where you can go for a while and decide if it's what you're after rather than pay out for 3 months membership to find out after a few weeks it's not for you.....

Also look at the membership options my box does two, open gym and open gym + classes. Depending on class timings and if you can get a programme from your current PT it might be more beneficial to just do an open gym member..

Get a few sessions with a PT Pix, you can read the theory, but nothing beats having some one watch your form to see that you’re doing it correctly. You don’t want to get injured mate

How much do you ladies pay for gym membership?
I spent ages decorating the "study" at home to turn it into a gym with weights - and my family went and filled it with cardio eqmt. *grumpy face*
I've been looking at gym memberships now I'm not working - but locally they seem to be a good £30+ a month, which seems an awful lot.
