Thanks V rap! I live near a body building gym but always been too scared to go. But they do do 1:1 training which would be useful.

I’ve been out of the gym for 6 weeks after giving myself a ‘bulging disc’ (aka slipped disc). I’m starting again on Monday with a 1:1 session, so can also report back as to what I’m doing and if it helps the back, or not.

Hi Tiggia!
First week of strength phase/build up to comp - that second squat/bench session with PT last night was brutal... He had to help in the last back off squat sets! A bit scared, but looking forward to seeing what it brings :D

I like the New Rules of Lifting books. Very accessible. That said I’m currently doing body weight callisthenics stuff using Al Kavadlo books.

The Barbell Prescription is better than Starting Strength for those of us who aren't 21 any more. The New Rules of Lifting for Life is also worthwhile.

Vrap - What's the major differences between Starting Strength and Barbell Prescription? I know the Barbell Prescription guy(s) were previously SS coaches but left over some disagreements and have some differences on how to train but not seen exactly what those are.
