Yeah but the more heft you've got the easier it is to lift, AR! Unless you are a right old (inactive) porker I suppose... and you definitely aren't!

I currently can't bench press 50% of my weight. Same reason. (Though I have bench pressed 50% of my current weight in the past.) But I don't have any targets more specific than to maintain gradual progression until I can't increase the weights any further.

Well I'm actually beginning to wonder if I should be this little bit heavier after all...
Sharkie sees sense shocker!

When lifting more often and focusing more on increasing the weight I did manage to squat bodyweight and deadlift 1.5 x bodyweight. No where near now though! Iām now a bit fearful of going too heavy but it was a good boost to get new PBs.

For a strength athlete, being that little bit heavier doesn't sound like a bad thing.

My first chin up was probably what I was most proud of though. š

Re weight, I always think do the training, eat well and weight will find right place. Focus should be on feeling stronger, faster, recovery, etc. Too much emphasis is put on the benefits of being lighter which are all based on everything else remaining similar or the same.
Congrats on the PBs/ improvement Sharkie.

Indeed.
Thanks for congrats, all. PBs are fun but their real purpose for me is providing a boost to getting on with what matters. What I always think of as the Jonathon Edwards effect. POWER to (body) weight ratio. So I will stop trying to go heavier for now and concentrate on faster but still precise and form perfect reps.
Got to have that OOMPH!

True Sharkie! I think we all get a bit carried away with the "more! More! More!" Thing. PT has me focussing on my mid weights and higher reps. Today I was happy to oberhead press 20kg 3x3 for first time. Shoulders day is my absolute nemesis!
