I only listed my Yaffle Yarns on Ravelry, cba to list every ball of yarn I own. I'm hoping to link it to my Sock Innovations project of knitting every pattern in the book, hopefully in yaffles as well:-)

Tonight I shall mostly be sock knitting or starting a tank top for Dad's birthday in a fabulous Guernsey yarn. It's for his birthday in Feb, but with other stuff to do, I thought I ought to get cracking now.

tbh, girlie, i think it's only worth listing the nice stuff. as that only consists of a few skeins of araucania and something really pretty from the usa, which i'm already knitting with anyway and therefore probably doesn't count as stash, i've not really got anything worth listing...

how does guernsey yarn vary from other yarn?

Its a 5 ply yarn originally from Guernsey, its used to knit cabled and Fishermens sweaters.

I got my cone from here- they only sell it on 500g cones so you can knit a jumper in the round with no yarn joins.

Im doing it in the Ocean Deep one to match a pattern in Knit Today - its a regular pattern though in pieces.

I found this a while back on Rav- this isn't a stash, its a yarn shop in the basement! mochimochiland.com

That has made me SO happy, Girlie! I feel very much better about having filled the understairs cupboard with 10-packs of balls of bog-standard wool and mixes :)

I am knitting a small purple sleeve. I'm hoping it'll fit the armholes on the small purple front and back, otherwise I'll be making a small purple pinafore instead of a dress ;)

The pattern I'm using is a 3.575 needle, the yarn is somewhere between 4 ply and dk. It isnt oiled as far as I can see!

I'm going to be good and do a tension square tonight as I haven't knitted in that yarn before.

The stash in that blog mademy 3 big Primark bags look miniscule, so I need to buy more I think ;-)

Wow, there's more yarn in that stash than most wool shops I'll bet!

i showed it to my husband so he can't moan when i buy more wool without knitting what i already have!

i doubt they do oil them, anymore. i'd probably have to knit it ion a 3.25 needle then. i do love the colours tho. and i love traditional jumpers...
