Girlie
RD - Whoops keyboard slip there. The pattern says do the rib on 3.25 needle and main body on 3.75. Done the tension sample which has worked out exactly:-) Will cast on tomorrow.

I'm sure there was an update somewhere on that stash and she had re-organised it and added to it :-0

I reckon she wouldn't miss the odd ball or 20 if we staged a raid!

I need to get off the Laughing Yaffle website and go to bed.

I want about 8 different colourways.

jaynie-b, girlie :)

it's a dangerous place, v'rap ;)

i'm trying very hard not to look too closely at any other yarn til i've ticked off a few more projects. plus the fact i need to get used to paying for a student, now.

i'm still knitting and listening to iplayer. this is not good, i ought to be sleeping.

Meglet
I turned up at after school club today to see a large bag (dustbin liner size) of balls of wool. Apparently a parent works at a wool place and donates it. It's mainly used for pompoms and scarves! I wonder if they'll let me raid it?

Lol at runner duck trying to lure me into the knitting world :-p

The Mod Podge is basically watered down PVA, which can be used as glue and also as a sealer, so you can use paints, inks, papers etc and nothing should run if you coat it. I've got glittery stuff too ;-)

This is my first mixed media canvas I did last week - basically you use different types of materials to create whatever you want, doesn't look very bright on here though...

last night I melted wax onto a painted canvas....need more practice on that one though :-p

that's really lovely, nicki! which is the wax bit - hard to tell from a little photo.

that mod podge stuff should work for mosaicing paper, shouldn't it?

Thanks rd :-)

The wax bits are on a different one....you'd know if you saw it cos it just looks like a load of blobs :-p

I think so, I used it on newspaper stuck to a canvas and it all went a bit eughhh.... curled a bit and looked a bit bedraggled, but I've looked at tit this morning and the paper looks smooth again with a bit of sheen on it.

You could make your own I guess but it seems a bit faffy to get the right consistency, so I bought mine from calico crafts online :-)
