If it doesn't have a lot of shaping then I'd recalculate and rework to give a size and feel you're happy with. I don't think that blocking would help.

Yep, what SK said. The fabric you like is more important or you won’t wear it. With crochet it’s bit easier to fudge, adding more or less rows or increasing or decreasing here or there.
I’ve never found crochet so successful for garments that need accurate measurements, especially as my stitch height tends to be quite low, I tend to try and match stitch width then look for a pattern that goes by ‘work X cm’ rather than ‘work x rows’ but then I need more yarn.

If you have enough yarn to spare you could always make a gauge square then wash and block it to see how much the feel changes?
It might not change enough, of course, in which case you're back to scaling down the pattern, but might be worth checking before you frog everything you've already done.

Have been using up all my dad's wife's wool that she had for making her granddaughters things before she sadly passed away earlier in the year.
So far have made the twins a large doll, some headbands and a purse each.
Just finished these also - they are quite cute I think
