Sombrero-ho-ho-ho Not sure about that, try a local yarn shop? There’s also Ravelry, which is like Fetch for knitters. You could also just try the Facebook marketplace groups.

That's brilliant Silvershadow!

Many thanks for the sock suggestions, everyone, I have only ever turned one heel, and didn't finish the sock, so needed something to get me back into trying. :-)

Sombrero-ho-ho-ho I’m in a group on Facebook called Spinners In the U.K. Marketplace where people sell wheels etc,
Failing that contact your local guild if spinners weavers and dyers, they may have a member who wants a new wheel!

Cheers Jelly, I'll have a look. :-) We did find a local guild and they tried to rip us off, which we were warned they would!!

I taught myself to knit socks this summer using The Sock Knitting Bible by Lynne Rowe after spotting the perfect Christmas present pattern for my Dr Who obsessed daughter.

Managed a plain pair that fit perfectly, had a go at colourwork with these Halloween socks as a practice run. Lots of lessons learnt, including colourwork being too tight on the first sock, but it gave me the confidence to crack on with my daughters socks.

I'm now well on my way to getting a pair of Tardis socks under the tree.

Socks are definitely my new favourite thing to make.

Gnome would love those Dr Who socks - I'm inspired to get back into sock knitting I think

Especially now I will have more time :-)
