Great work Silvershadow and Meglet! I'm in 'finishing off' mode at the moment, adding sleeves to a gilet I knitted a few years ago. After that I have a few too many projects lined up, choosing is going to be difficult! Does anyone who has knitted an entire sock have any ideas for entry-level sock patterns? |

I've made a few pairs of these ravelry.com I think they were my second ever pair of socks, so I reckon they're fairly accessible. My first ever pair was something like 'falling leaves', and was super simple but came up too big for me so I gave them to a friend. |

I've used the Winwick one too: First tip: do quite a few rows of rib on straight needles at the start so it's easy to check it's not twisted before joining and knitting in the round... |

Those are all lovely, Meglet. I've just bought a book of Corinne Lapierre patterns for felt Christmas bits and bobs; I fancy doing something which involves sewing by hand. |

I’ve picked up quite a few fat quarters of Christmas fabric, with the idea of making placemats and some Scandinavian stars (I’ve done one star to see how they worked). I have a feeling I will run out of time though.
