me again

seen a lovely pattern called Hitofude cardigan but the recommended yarn would be like £80-90
It's on raverly ... can someone have a look and make some suggestions that may be more affordable!

If you click on the Hitofude projects that have been made, EP, it takes you to where there's a button to click that shows you to all the yarns that have been used to make this:

Interesting knit - it's done all in one piece, I think, isn't it?

Suggest you take a look at what other Ravelry users have already chosen for that pattern and see what you like the look of. I also thought someone on here had already tried it, but can't remember who. Not for the faint-hearted, there's a lot of knitting in that.

I made a Hitofude in Wollmeise Pure (4-ply), which cost around £18 for 150g. Two skeins would be sufficient for a full garment (I made a cropped version with one skein just for the sake of playing with the pattern). There's no reason why you shouldn't make it in any yarn with which you can get the right tension. Some of the Knit Picks fingering yarns might be a good choice.

(Is Hitofude in the Dropbox, Pix? It should be, for I've bought it.)

I made a Hitofude in a linen yarn that I think has been discontinued. What v'rap said -- it would work with a wide variety of yarns, though would drape differently of course.

Can I get an invite to our Dropbox? I had it setup on my work pic but don't have access to it anymore ☹️

I have some 4-ply cotton yarn that I only hold on to because it would make an awesome Hitofude. I'm going to make a full size one sometime, when I've got time for the acres of mindless knitting involved. When I made mine, I just wanted to play with the shaping because it was so cleverly designed.

Doing the long provisional cast-on with cheap sticky acrylic yarn was not my cleverest decision ever. I recommend something easily rippoutable, like bamboo.
