Hi CStar, Thanks. Coffee and a chat would be good. Not sure on the actual date yet, probably early September. I'll Fmail you when I know more.

Have managed to actually get an interview. Granted it's as a commis chef, and nothing to do with what I want to be doing, but its a potential job, meaning potential money.

It's nice to see there has been no activity on here for a while. I hope everyone that was looking has found something. I have just started a new thread that some of you might be able to help with? I'm helping a friend prepare for a job interview and I'm trying to get together some general interview questions to help her out. http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=58236&page=1 |

Well, my seasonal contract finished last Tues, so I'm unemployed. Spent most of the morning trawling through one job website, and managed to apply for a few jobs (without getting fed up halfway through the application and giving up!). One of the jobs was through an agency, who phoned me to arrange an appointment a couple of hours later! Also managed to trail through an Asda application (including about 5 assessments...), and have been invited to one of their 'Asda Magic' selection events - just the name and description has made me shudder a bit Hope everyone else has had good luck! |

Hi idle_wilder, how are you getting on with your job hunt? I was made redundant on Friday following the company going into administration. I now need to find a job in a different industry as the oil and gas industry which I have worked in for the last 15 years is in a massive decline with redundancies everywhere and no jobs. I feel like I haven't stopped in the last 2 days but all I've achieved is filling in the forms for job seekers, applying for redundancy and notice payments and I've nearly finished one job application. Tomorrow I have the joy of my first appointment at the job centre. |

I've now been in a new job for a week now, working at a local 'pet resort' Has been hard, going back to full time, me being the only staff member last week & lots to do - few new people started/starting, so getting easier! So we'll see how it goes. Lots of oil & gas jobs going down the pan in Aberdeen - how are the applications going, Elsie Too? |

That's great that you've got a job idle_wilder. I have applied for 3 jobs this week. One was closing date today and interviewing next week but don't know when the other 2 will move forward. I have found a couple more to apply for next week too. And I have experienced the joy of the job centre which was pretty depressing. Next week I am planning on getting in touch with some agencies.

If I keep posting in here maybe someone will join me?!?!? I found a job today that I'm really excited about. It would be a promotion from where I was and out of my comfort zone slightly but I think it could be really rewarding. Deadline for the application is Wednesday so I'm in a bit of a panic but I've made good progress on the application form today and could send it as it is but I have tomorrow to fine tune it a bit more. The 2 jobs that I had intended to focus on this week have closing dates 18th Dec and the other in Jan so they are on hold for now. |
