Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

- actually just remembered today's WOD was 4 x 5 mins, not 500m - doh!

I'm two days away from completing the January revolutions 20 rows. Then I'm away from my C2 for a week and need to think about what to focus on for Feb & March. Will probably use the Rowalong 2K plan for a few weeks.

Nice one Andy. Well done.

Watched this earlier. 5 x Fittest Man on Earth Matt Fraser is scared of this rowing workout!

Getting back to it after (another) pinched nerve/sciatica issue. Did a cautious 2 x 10 min @ r20 on Friday and another 3 x 10 min @ r20 this morning. No ill effects so I'll continue to (re)build up over the next few weeks.

Not more sciatica Nellers? You have my sympathy and painkilling vibes. I know from my own experience that it bloody well hurts.

It did for a while, mate. It's weird. I do all this rowing, biking, lift weights, swim, run. No real problems with it for ages. It came on after I'd swum 2 weeks back. I was fine in the pool, got showered and changed after and drove home and could feel it when I got out of the car. If I pinched a nerve did I do it getting in or out of the car or craning my neck round for reversing into a parking space? If I knew what was causing it I'd stop doing that but it seems so random.

It can be the oddest thing that does it I think Nellers. I know sometimes with me it's just been a tiny movement and I feel it "go". You're doing the right thing with building up muscle to protect things, it'll make it less likely in the future.

I pinged mine as I was parking the erg in its usual place underneath the stairs. No idea why because I take it out and put it back every other day for the workout. As I did today, without a peep from the nerve. Seems very random.

Getting old is shit but it beats the alternative.

Damn annoying situation Nellers.

I’ve escaped sciatica so far although did right royally damage myself when I was misdiagnosed with it.

Symptoms appeared similar. Stretched and did all that was needed to shift it AND continued to run as apparently it wouldn’t hurt and could help…

Turned out I’d pulled my piriformis muscle and set myself back months with my antics.
