The first entry in my C2 logbook is 5th January 2004 and I haven't even hit a million yet - though will do very shortly. (We definitely had the machine before 2004 so I'm not sure why there are no meters recorded for 2003.)

It's only recently that I've started rowing slightly longer distances or times. I used to use it just as an adjunct to running and rarely did more than 5000m.

It’s a devise that suits your every need!

I first used on in July 1993 when I won a relay race on the brand new model C that was just released.

… if only I’d known where it would lead !

This is all making my 26,999 feel a bit inadequate (in my defence, I've been rowing occasionally - although not seriously - for several years - but only discovered the app a few weeks ago)

It all counts, AndyS! And who knows where you could be this time next year?

I remember watching fellow (but male) students do a test - 2K I guess? - on an erg (I would guess C2) when I was in my first year, but back then (1986) it wasn't taken so seriously at the college level, so even though I rowed on water in an eight I didn't go near an erg until maybe I started going to a gym in the late 90s.

Quick update on the January virtual team challenge: we're 308th out of 713 teams - with only six members that's not bad. 313th in terms of distance rowed per member.
