I've done that one before. Indeed a sweaty finish ... need to avoid the temptation to go too fast early on. I was gasping by the end of it.
I'm loosely following his 10k plan, interspersed with other things. This morning was 3 x 15 minutes with 2-min rests, stroke ladders of 20-22-24-22-20 spm, changing every 3 minutes (he says 18 at first but I did 20). A satisfying session, got me perspiring well enough.

I had hoped to try the rower this week and see how my back coped but the physio this evening has advised that I hold off another week and see how we're going.
I'm making good progress with things, he says. Very little pain or discomfort and most of my movement back. The main thing is to keep progressing but not so fast that I create additional problems.

Stick with it Nellars, we're hoping to see you back here soon. This injury malarkey is rubbish, eh?
Speaking of which, I ran for the fifth time in 2022 yesterday. And it was a trail race, too, so my calves and hamstrings are aching today (stretch!) Still, it was a beautiful Spring day, and I managed 12th place on the back of no training, albeit from a small field. The foot seems to have coped with it, so that's good.
This 10k a day is getting to be a bit of a drag and I'll be quite glad to have a bit more flexibility in April. I know I could do the "C2 Mud Season Madness" on 5k a day, and a 25 days in March is officially the minimum, but I like a challenge. No PBs for a while since tired legs & arms don't make for a top level effort.
Today's row was my first on grass (freshly cut), with birdsong, and podcasts in one earbud: the excellent BBC "Just One Thing" from Dr Michael Moseley. Four of the 14-minute episodes to go with a 2k warm-up and then a comfortable push to a 2k+11 10k. That cooling breeze was great as the sun sank behind the trees.

_andy. You definitely get the vote for most idyllic rowing location. ( although I have seen a picture of someone rowing down stream with the Erg on a barge. )
Nellers Good to see you. Hope that the time flys by and you’re back fixed !

First row back today post COVID. Managed a jog yesterday so hoping that a steady 30 mins will go off without too much of a wheezing glitch.

You take it easy and be cautious with the comeback, Jef. It seems pretty random whether you get over it quick or have some longer-term shit to deal with.

^ What he said. Does seem these days that vaccinations have taken the sting out of covid but this long covid stuff is a worry. Tread carefully.
Just 10,000m at UT2 this morning, keeping hr to 120 during the first half and letting it slide to 125 during the second (UT2 ceiling for me is mid to upper 120s). Fractionally faster (by 3 and a bit seconds) than a few days ago at same hr so I'll take that.

Fridays 2km first of the month effort is going to be very interesting !!!

Easy does it, Jef. On the plus side, if you do an atrocious 2k tomorrow you'll have the satisfaction of blowing it out the water the following month
My distance target for this year is 1m metres. We're a quarter of the way through the year and I'm just shy of 305,000, so on target with a little in the bank.
