mk parkrun
evening folks. Didn't do much on the rower last year so using the Row31 to get back in the swing of it. Helped by a hip niggle that means running is no fun.
was appalled by only 4475m in 20 minutes, but todays 10 x 1 min felt progressively stronger. the last time I tried this I went off way to quick and couldn't even hold 2:00/500 today I finished with something around 1:43, average I'm guessing 1:55

I'm on a waterpower so the data is a bit naff as I'm not willing to upgrade the console

Hi MK. Is "Row31" one of these here row every day for a month challenge things? That's a tough one but if you can stick with it you'll feel the benefit when you come out the other side.

1:55 average is pretty swift for "didn't do much on the rower last year". Well done.

Congratulations on your new PB Fenners 💪

Hope you're feeling better soon Muttley, and good to see you're getting back to your old self Nellers!

Back on the Erg after manflu mid November followed by CBA, rowing every day works best for me by so that's what I shall do... until I feel like a rest 🤣

Happy new year all

Nice one @Fenners-Reborn ! That's getting a shift on.

I'd noticed you were clocking up your daily 5ks @Craggy . That's going to be having a bit of an impact I would think.

I'm sticking to my 4 per week plan just building slowly. I'm definitely seeing the improvement week on week at the mo, and in a few weeks I'll be adding in some regular threshold stuff which, although hard work, always has the desired effect.

@Nellers yeah daily rowing gets me fit, I find a rest day tends to turn into 2, 3 or 4 rest days - it used to be the same when I was running, so active rest days (3-4 mile easy) worked best for me.

Always good when you're in shape to add some threshold work, as you say it's hard work but very satisfying! Your 4 days per week works well for you and you row a similar amount of metres in 4 days as I do in 7 🤣

Well spotted, Muttley. Looks like your covid won't require a trip to Barnard Castle to test your eyes then. ;-)
