My goal for this and next season is to hit 15 million metres in 15 years on the erg. Currently at 12,756,218 and I bought the thing in July 2007. Or to average a million a year as soon as poss after that. Less bothered about pace or time targets, given it's mainly a cardio complement to the running.

Although having said that, this morning's sesh was 500m reps and I knocked 0.3 sec off the pace.

And I see Nellers tried to knock me and Craggy off the gold medal position yesterday. You'll have to try harder than that, me old son!

Good luck Nellers, that's definitely an achievable target for you, just need a solid block of training🤞 I'll possibly have another go at sub 7 towards the back end of the year.

That's a lot of metres Muttley, if you'd rowed in a straight line you'd be in Indonesia right now, and I imagine you've slid up and down that rail at least 1.2 million times 😂
We're currently in silver medal position as Lildude sneaked in a 4.9 mile, you've got two days to reclaim gold!

Well, today was a run and tomorrow's schedule says 10,000m so it looks like I've been pipped again ... drat and double drat!

I'm no Redgrave and my erg has been pampered. It's probably the C2 equivalent of your maiden aunt's Beemer limo that she only uses to drive to the shops. But still, the build quality of these things is excellent. Some of the best money I've ever spent.

And that's a set of 8 x 500m with 2-min rests to kick off the new rowing season.

Yay! How did it go, Muttley, because you always say you don't get on so well with the short stuff.

The 500m reps aren't so much of an issue. It's the 1,000m reps at the same pace (or trying) that flatten me. I seem to be weak in high-end endurance, although fairly sound in mid-level stuff.

Next week's short stuff is 800m reps, so time to brace myself!

Hmmm. I seem to have buggered my achilles. Need to take a short while off the running. Which is why I have the erg.

That's a bugger, Muttley. What have you done?

(Also well done for recognising it and taking measures. Me not doing that when I had an achilles niggle is why I've been almost a non-runner for a couple of years).

Agree about the build quality of Concept 2's Muttley they are bombproof and I love how you can replace parts yourself at a reasonable price. Nice start to the season with those 500s! I hope your achilles injury isn't too serious, and hopefully you can continue to row!

I did 12/10/8/6/4/2' with two min rests today, a session I did a couple of months ago but I slowed the pace by 1 sec as I haven't done much faster stuff lately.
