I can't find it now, Muttley, but there's a video knocking baout of a gym with a guy cocking up an olympic lift and losing the barbell, which thuds to the floor, bounces across the gym floor and lands on the (thankfully not in use) Concept2, which is absolutely fine after all the fuss is done.

They're bombproof, given a little love and care.

Aye, oil the chain and clean the fan once in a while and that's about it. Although I did treat mine to a full service at 10 years. Being useless at DIY I thought it was worth paying the money.

Anyhoo, 10,000 metres at UT2, a second a half quicker than last time and hr a couple of beats lower on average and peak, so I'll bank that.

5:39.4 is mind bogglingly fast! Works out at sub 1:25 pace which is faster than my 100m pace 😯

Nice improvement Muttley well done!

A steady 5k yesterday and today I did 8 x 1k /2r, done as a double rate ladder.. r22, 24, 26, 28 X2.
It's the first time I've managed to nail all the stroke rates, I usually see a couple of odd numbers in there on my rate ladders.

That sounds like a tough sesh Craggy, both physically and in terms of holding rates.

Yeah I did doubt myself a little at the end of the first set, but the second 22 & 24 didn't feel too bad, it was the r28 that got me both times. Glad to have bagged a hard session though 👍

It just wasn't happening today. Bailed out halfway through and have felt lethargic all day. Maybe it's the really heavy muggy weather. Next time will be better.

Sometimes that's just what you need to do Muttley. I've done it more than once. I've also done a warmup and called it a day after that because it felt wrong. Next time you'll nail it.

Did an Anaerobic Threshold session today. 3 x 6 minutes at r24. Found it hard to hold the rate. All of them averaged 25. At the same time the pace was about 2:00, whereas the target is about 1:52-54 I guess. Work to do at both ends of things then but that's the point, right?

It's far from perfect erging weather Muttley, I hope you're feeling better now.

Good session Nellers, that would be tough in the heat!

8k @r18 today, I enjoyed that.

That sounds like a good hot weather Sunday morning session, Craggy. Seems to be the humidity more than the temperature that gets me. We're now into clear sun and gentle breeze (in west Cornwall) rather than sticky, so yesterday's sesh was much better.

My HRV app this morning told me I should take it easy so I binned the 70 minutes UT2 that was planned and went for a little walk with Mrs Nellers instead. Back to it tomorrow probably.
