Nice one Rich. It's a long time sitting on the rower isn't it? How did you find it?

(I bottled the Solstice thing and went out on my bike!)

Certainly is, Nellers! I can see why they sell cushioned pads... Couple of short breaks to stretch my back out, but otherwise was good to just settle into a pace. I suspect I may have been ok starting out a little quicker - had a bit left to speed up at the end and didn’t feel quite as destroyed afterwards as a 2k effort seems to.

Its a different kind of destroyed. After a 2k I can't do stairs but I'm usually OK 24 hours later. After a hard Half I'm generally not too bad immediately but the next day is the problem!

Plan has a steady state 18km for me in the morning. Although I've missed the challenge I'm quite tempted to give a Half another go. What's the worst thing that can happen?

I am.in awe of you lot and all that you do.

After a nice start the rowing machine went AWOL for a few weeks due to mum being in hospital and then myself being in. Just went back on it for the first time in a while tonight and enjoyed it.

Will sort out a training plan to print off tomorrow to give me something to focus on 😁

We all started small and built up Mandy. There's nothing to be in awe of. You can get there too given the time and the work.

(but thank you.)

Team GB rower Tom George has set a new British record for 2k at 5:39.6

Only the 10th person ever to go under 5:40.

Morning. Welcome back to MM. I hope you're recovered and it wasn't serious or catching. Just start out gradually, with plenty of variety. You don't have to spend hours on the machine like us obsessives :-)

4 x 15 minutes done, with 2-min breaks. Notional marathon, then 10k, then half mara, then mara again paces. Plan said 4 x 20 minutes but I haven't got the time or inclination for that much.
