No row for me today but I did venture into the shed this afternoon to do some weights and it was 41.5c! I opened the doors and put all the fans on and got it down to a more bearable 36 before I started working out.
Not sure how the session planned for tomorrow night is going to go.
I've never really been able to do hard intervals in the mornings SK. I'm going to just have to make sure I leave the shed open with fans going for a while before I go in there, iced drinks to hand and with the bare minimum of clothing to avoid embarrassing the neighbours.
I think yesterday was as much to do with accumulated fatigue (Fri AM run, Fri PM 4 x 3km tempo row, Sat 50km on the bike, Sunday Rowed Half Mara, Monday AM run and circuits, Monday PM total collapse!) so hopefully the rowing muscles have recovered enough to give me a fighting chance. We'll see.
A steady 5K this morning just to dip the toe back in the water.
Feeling much better but still sore in a few small areas. Not looking forward to the heat over the next couple of days as the remaining rash can get quite itchy.
Top tip here for Nellers. This is from an article in the Grauniad about keeping cool when working from home but substitute when erging in the shed:
I bought a fan for my office during the last heatwave, and itโs rubbish. All it does is push hot air around, which helps nobody. If you do buy a fan, freeze a two-litre bottle of water and place it between the fan and you, which should help to cool the air.
Morning. 12 x 3 minutes 1 min rest today. The rough aim is to start out at 6K-ish pace and then to add one metre to each rep. It gets tough soon enough ...
