I think L had to join British Rowing. It usually clashes date wise with the Jingle mile :-(

Thanks HB. I'd be sorry to miss the JM but I'm not going to be in any shape to run it so maybe it will be better for me to do the rowing champs instead this year.

Nellers - I can't remember whether a British rowing membership was necessary, but I know someone I can email to ask if that helps? There might be a better guide to whether it's necessary once entries open I suspect. It was all very inclusive when I went, lots of different abilities and a good overall atmosphere as well. Best bit was seeing the GB guys row (they're insane!). Definitely give it a go, I got my PB there (still salty about that 10th of a second though), the machines are so good because they buy new ones every year so a really great opportunity to try for your best time!

Cheers TF. The only thing that might stop me is expensive membership on top of entry fee. It might not be worth it for 7 and a half minutes of feeling like death! I’ve been watching YouTube clips from last year and googling proper training plans at lunchtime.

Also, you’ll get under 8 with a very little bit of training so don’t let that tenth bother you.

Right: I'm saying it on here so I'm committed and I don't bottle it tonight when I get to the gym. 2k test. PB attempt. Death or glory. Shit or bust. I'll report back later to let you know how it goes.

No flowers please. Donations to a charity of your choice instead.;-)
