So the big thing here is a rig to convert a stand up paddle board into a sculling boat. Sounds really cool and possible for a lot of us. Have a watch. See if you're also interested.
I'd say with the massive base you've built an 8 week sharpening up phase would be perfect Nellers. I on the other hand have been slacking and may find it hard to get in shape in time, I might try a couple of sessions to see where I am.
Thanks for the video, that'll be my bedtime viewing 👍
Isn’t that just the way, Nellers? Hope it passes soon.
Thanks for the info about the Midlands champs, Craggy. I might keep the idea on the back burner. I’ve lost a bit of momentum since the new year for various reasons and can’t imagine getting anywhere near my PB at the moment but I’m still enough of a beginner that 8 weeks’ training makes quite a lot of difference, so I won’t rule it out completely.
Live streaming from World Indoor Champs in Paris. 500m today, 200ms events tomorrow. Cameron Buchan, one of the rowing YouTubers is competing tomorrow. Also Shane Farmer of Dark Horse Rowing is compering and doing post race interviews.
I've had the World Indoors on most of the morning. Some of the folk on this thread would be in the front half of the fields for their age groups over 2km. The winners, and the top 10 or so, are on a different planet though! It's really quite impressive.
Haha Nellers if only you'd been born a girl in 2005 🥇 hope you're feeling better btw.
Enjoyed watching the Champs especially the fast and furious 500m's. The big guys make it look so effortless in the 2k. Spotted a few familiar faces from the Lightweight Facebook group and from our online rowing club, a handful of whom are now world champions 💪
