Wow Craggy! That’s amazing. Some of the times at the top end of things just blow my mind!
Cam Buchan was top Brit in the open men with 7th place. 5:52.6 was only good enough for 7th!

Oh, and I’ve just done a 5k on the erg letting the rate and pace do what they did and keeping hr below 140. The fact that I was dropping to r14 at times tells me that I’m not quite over this bug! Don’t think I’ll have done any harm though and my head feels better for having done something. Might do it again tomorrow.

You can always self-identify, Nellers
Declaring an easy 10,000. Just mileage. I would have gone for a run today but didn't fancy the coastal path and cliffs with storm Ciara in the neighbourhood.

Winning times are bonkers think the fastest was 5.43? We know how hard it is trying to find those few seconds to go sub 7, so to go way under 6 is unimaginable.
It's worth penciling in those Midlands champs CW, you can get in good shape in 8 weeks!
Well done Nellers, wise to keep it steady. And good metres there Muttley, it's def an indoor day today!
Did 5k myself with the last 500 at 1:45 to remind me how much I love erg pain 😂

Managed a half hour last night. Kept the hr down again and the rate and pace were a bit higher and more consistent so I’m going to give a 10k a try this evening and see how that goes.
Leaning more towards giving that Midlands Champs a go as I feel better. Hoping that if I keep feeling better over the next few days I might have a go at a 2k on Saturday and see where we are.

Hi - I'm new to Fetch. I'm planning on doing a bit of rowing as cross training for the Manchester Marathon in April. I'll hopefully do 2 or 3 sessions a week.
I have a couple of questions about uploading rowing workouts. I have a concept2 logbook account and that automatically uploads to Garmin connect and Strava.
I have setup fetch to autoload from Garmin Connect so I was hoping that my rowing activity which appears in Garmin Connect would also get uploaded to fetch like my runs. I uploaded the GPX file to fetch which worked OK, but I was wondering if I can get my rowing automatically uploaded? Also is it possible to get rowing pace displayed as min/500m in fetch?

Just found a link on how to do it in the wiki on the right hand side. I should read the manual first next time!

Hi spendap and welcome to Fetch. Glad you found your answers. Would also love min/500 and km stuff etc., but probably too much work for such a small corner of the Fetchie world.
I rowed a lot as part of my prep for London last year. I followed a fairly standard marathon training plan, but replaced most of my recovery runs with an equivalent time on the rower. 6 mile recovery run at 10min/miles = 60 minutes rowing. I may have replaced a couple of other sessions in a similar way when the weather was less than favourable. I am quite heavy so this took a load off of my knees and ankles.

Thanks sjn. I'm much heavier than my ideal weight, so I'm mainly doing it as a way of building up my training load without destroying my legs, losing weight and toning up. When I last ran marathons over 10 years ago I did quite a bit of rowing and it really helped. Hopefully it will do the trick this time!

Welcome to the thread Spendap. Good to see you and I hope your training goes well.
I suspect that you'll get a lot of crossover of fitness from the rowing to running, although I can't really speak from personal experience. I've only started rowing because I'm crocked and can't run! Then again, it's a bit addictive so I'm not hugely bothered if it takes a while to get back out running.
