Snow, slush and rain in a character building half marathon. Fantastic course though.

No snow down here but with wet and windy weather forecast all weekend, I went out extra early this morning.

I thought I pulled a calf muscle but it might have just been a bit of cramp. Still ran all 7.6 miles.

Achilles went at about 15 miles was lamping quite badly and could feel it putting a strain on the right leg so DNF at the end of that lap. I was getting slower and slower for the effort. Disappointed but I knew it was a possibility. Onwards and upwards for Tissington April 2025. Thanks for all your support

Wise decision @riggys99. Sorry to hear that it didn't work out today, but that Achilles sounded as if it was still a bit of a gamble. This training block is all capital in the bank towards your next attempt.

Thanks @Velociraptor

It definitely was a gamble but the lapped nature of the course meant I felt I could start. I didn’t even complete my final lap I just went straight to the start/finish area. Going to take at least a week off running and do rehab and gentle dog walking (luckily that’s my dog’s favourite way to walk).

Club intervals. Five 800m laps going on five minutes, slowest group 😂

Cross training completed. after finishing with the last exercise machine, I've started to jog back to my street. Partially to increase the workload & to see how the foot gets on.
