You can get the Garmin 55 for £125 from Sportpursuit, plus £5.99 postage, so a £14 saving. Choice of black or white ( or turquoise for £130 )
If you've not used Sportpursuit before, you need to create an account, even to browse the site, but it's free to do so, and you get a marketing email once a week or so which you can switch off if you want.

If Garmin gives 30% off full price (£179.99) it would be £126 so worth waiting to contact Garmin still.

I thought I'd seen full price at 189.99 previously before my last post.

I have a forerunner 255. In the last few days it’s been taking a good few minutes to get GPS signal where previously it got the signal in less than 30 seconds. Anyone else having this problem. The watch is a couple of years old.

Thanks K5 Gus and SPR. I will probably get it from Sports Pursuit as Garmin only seem to have White and Aqua in stock.

Give it a hard reset, that should sort it out. A hard reset will not wipe data. Easiest way to do this is press and hold the light button until the screen fades (maybe 30 secs).

My Garmin 255 went back with a GPS issue, in addition to long connection times, it also wasn't holding the connection.

When it has truly been a slow connection issue, deleting the EPO/ CPE file and resyncing has sorted it (this file is what makes it connect quickly as it gives it the location info). Reset may work in the same way (and is easier to try I guess) but nothing worked for my 255 and I've never done a reset when I needed to sort previously.

If your watch is holding connection once it does connect then hopefully the reset works as it's unlikely to be a hardware issue which it likely was when my 255 failed.

Lol. The file format is completely documented, but the meaning (and scale factors) of a lot of the fields is not. Best source I've found for interpretations of them is github.com

Thanks Badger Nice to see there's now a Swift API available. That'll make my life a lot easier (and the rabbit hole less deep)

Cheeky’s Dad
My current smart scales are playing up so I’m thinking about a replacement. Anyone have any experience (good or bad) of the Index S2 scales? Or any other smart scales for that matter but as a denizen of the Garmin Ecosystem 🤢 they initially spring to mind
