I remember from Marathon talk that TW had a bet with a friend and the loser was to get a parkrun barcode tattoo - wonder if that would be scannable !

It was TW and Nick Pearson (outgoing parkrun CEO) - the bet was that the loser would be tattooed with the winners barcode. As I recall, Tom lost. It certainly wouldn't have been scannable with the old scanners, it might just work with a phone though... |

New watch arrived An Instinct solar in red. I really like it and it was super easy to get set up with Connect. I have already tested my Pulse Ox and Good News! I am not Dead

I've seen a video of someone scanning a barcode tattoo. It worked.

I've noticed that my data screens on my 235 for running and training are different. I would like my training screen to show Distance; Timer; Lap Pace; & heart rate as it does for when I go on runs. However, if I select one of my saved training plans I only get 3 fields, not including heart rate. I have had a good look around to see if I can find a way to do this but with no luck. I was hoping someone might be able to help. Thanks. PS, I blame it on my age if it is something simple.

Not sure about the 235 but when I have seen the pre-arranged data screens for various things (workouts come to mind), you can just scroll past them to your own data screens. Have you tried that?

I uploaded a route to my new Garmin Instinct and tried it out. It worked really well and although the map was tiny the route instructions (direction arrows for the next turn) and count down to the turn worked really well. Also, the solar charging from leaving it in weak winter sun for an hour gave it an extra day of watch use. I like it so far.

I do remember using my old 310XT to follow a couple of routes yonks ago; that worked pretty well. After using about half my phone battery following an OS map route for 2.5 hours on Monday, following a route by watch is looking more attractive. (I did have a paper map and compass, but that doesn't handily tell you where you currently are.) Fenix 7 launch looks like 18th January. gadgetsandwearables.com |

True - even though I knew that the greatest advantage of GPS is knowing exactly where you are, it wasn't until I did an orienteering-based navigation course using only traditional methods that I realised that this is 99% of navigation.
