I made traditional scotch pancakes last night, a second shot at her recipe, and almost as good as hers were.
I haven't worked out the 'cost' in terms of calories, but they were good.

This evening's meal was a bit of an experiment. It was supposed to be the chicken and mushroom "pie" from the BSD recipe book, but I already got a cooked chicken leg, only a couple of mushrooms and no creme fraiche so I fried up the onion, mushrooms and chicken and stirred in some brie and homemade yogurt with a chicken stock cube. There was supposed to be nutmeg in it but I misread and put cumin in instead (goodness knows what I was thinking) and it got a big thumbs up from Mr GM. He had his with pasta but I couldn't be bothered to make courgetti spaghetti for me so just had the chicken and mushroom concoction. It was surprisingly tasty.

Still rather unfocused here but never mind!
I made buckwheat pancakes last night as I don't like plain/sweet ones. Lovely with spinach, egg and gruyere and I think we need to have them more often.
Will assess and re-jig on Friday. OH is back on two or three 800 cal days per week but I'm useless at that when stressed at work.

Good improvisation there GM!
I've been feeling quite anxious and upset today (worried about OH's health, I really shouldn't consult Dr Google ) so when he suggested having pancakes tonight (we didn't have them yesterday) I said yes. Food and mood are so closely linked, aren't they

I do like a surprise meal GM!
Husband made chicken and broccoli stir fry itβs a real recipe but still messes with my head 20+yrs on, itβs chicken broccoli & we add any other veg we have to had with ginger, garlic and soy but with pasta! However Iβve been to the chinese supermarket and bought the premium soy - he used the dark on its own and it was so strong! Tasty though.

Another comfort eater here too. I turn to food as comfort for all emotions, happy, sad, anxious, angry and the rest.
