Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I’ve spent a couple of hours clearing all the Winter accumulation of dross out of the garage so that I can start using it again.

Where does it all come from?!

First project*, headlining out of Landrover to fix the leaking sunroof.

* apologies that it’s not about camping vans**, but I’m hoping some of you’ll be a receptive or appreciative audience to my tales of mechanical woe.

** there may yet be tales of van conversion woes!!

Apparently the Caravan and Motorhome Club website has been inundated this afternoon and evening with people wanting to book sites from 12th April.

We will wait for the rush to die down a bit.

I'm reading it as single-household self-contained holiday accommodation only from 12 April (says he with a Lakes cottage booking from 17 April which seems to have some revived chance of happening!). I think campsites with shared shower/washblock facilities may be 17 May earliest.

I suppose sites could open on the earlier date for self-contained self-sufficient motorhomes and campervans, but not for tents ...

- That's not fair - I have a loo I can use in my tent, and can clean my teeth and have a wash in a bowl, same as any campervan :(

Seeing as we mainly wild camp I'm hoping it won't be too much of an issue .... hope does spring eternal though. Last year's experience was that a lot of "wild" spots have been put off limits.
