Thanks Ronnie!

We spent a lovely afternoon in the van, including cooking our lunch on the hob (chicken soup). Had a lie down in the upstairs, and a lie down on the rock and roll bed. Prefer the downstairs for comfieness. We even managed to save preset radio stations even though the display is all in Japanese. Getting used to the Japanese lady talking to us when we turn ignition on! The van plays CDs and DVDs. Even has a mini disc player in the glove compartment but I've never even seen a mini disc!

Several neighbours we hadn't seen in months came out for a nosy (individually) and a chat.

Mini-disc was late '90s must-have fad (which only lasted a couple of years in the groups I was amongst). Not many people had them (apart from overpaid oil workers ;) ). And the Japanese, it turns out!! :)

Gobi
So as many of you know I have a tatty old T4

I noticed when giving her a run out to clear the house that even by her standards there was a lack of pull and a little vibration.

Booked in for a service and said it feels like she is missing a cylindar please check the block etc isnt cracked before doing the service.

Turns out there is a part that feeds fuel to the cylindars and mine is cracked so no fuel to 3rd cylindar and explains why you can smell burning and carbon monoxide in the cockpit :¬0

Should be back all fixed later this week :¬)

Good amount of mechanical sensitivity there Gobi. Lots of folks wouldn't have noticed!

Angus - Deep down I am a petrol head and although not a mechanic I have replaced various parts in minis and on motorbikes(I raced for a season) and also blown lots of things up so you get a feel for how a vehicle responds :¬)
