If it’s yellow let it mellow, if it’s brown flush it down.

For mobile,I pay £5.71 per month for 3GB data and unlimited calls with EE. I think the headline price is like £15/month but they hand loyalty discounts very easily.

I now never use my landline for making calls and got rid of the calls package I used to pay for on that

Thanks all, most of those things I already do but some new ideas in there too.

We don't (can't) have a water meter so that's an area where we are stuffed. We do get a discount for asking for a meter that couldn't be fitted but I suspect we still pay over the odds for our usage.

For the £400 we are all getting from the govt, I thought they were adding a £66.67 credit to your account every month for 6 months. But this vid from the BBC implies that they're reducing your direct debit by that amount for 6 months.

Although it ends up the same thing in principal, I think the former is a better solution, as some people won't be disciplined enough to spend the extra they have on their energy - it will require you to up your DD amount or pay in a lump sum. Whereas getting the credit to your account would mean you don't need to actually do anything and the temptation is not there to spend it on something else.

Gus I think it depends on supplier. I am with eon and understand they will credit my bill.

Today is when you regret not taking the fix that was on offer about two month ago.

British gas say they will make a repayment back to the bank each month after the direct debit has been taken. Seems an odd way to do it.

I got an email from my supplier ScottishPower to say they would collect my DD as normal then credit me back the amount of the monthly Government Fuel subsidy.

I was on a fixed deal that ended in November 21. I signed up for what I thought was a bad deal to fix again until March 23. It was the best I could find at the time. Now it looks like a very good deal.

OVO (mailed me today) will credit direct debit accounts after the full price DD has been processed. Pay on bill accounts (like mine) will be credited in the first week of the month.

My understanding of their mail is if your billing date is (eg) after 7th each month, you'll see the credit in the bill for that month. If your billing date is earlier in the month, you may see it that month or the following month.

But that's leccie. Is gas independent, the same, or how do they decide which one to credit?

We’ve had word from our energy company that our direct debit from April onwards will be double the current amount. How’s everyone else fared?
