HappyG(rrr) do you have to be on a specific tariff with a specific company to get that rate of savings?

I'm massively assuming that you will access a deal where night rate is half the day rate, where you will get a battery capacity that covers all your use that used to be at peak rate and therefore that you will save half your electricity use charges. That's what we have found. So... yes and bo. ANY elec supplier that does 3-4 hrs cheap rate that is approx half the cost of day rate or less of course! Do a quick tariff search and see if your provider has such a thing (usually requires a start meter). If so then yes, any tariff like that. ![]() |

For those that like DD monthly payment and calculating whether you're in too much credit/debit, Martin Lewis did a run down of where you should be in the credit/debit cycle in his podcast on wed. Basically he says you should be in max debit at the moment, but listen to his full explanation on BBC sounds. bbc.co.uk He talks about fixes too for those interested. |

I think making the meters work AND fitting them in every home are both important! ![]() |

My latest statement is in from Octopus and for the second month payback from the panels exceeds the bill for consumption (by 50% in this case). I wonder how much longer they'll keep the export tariff at 15p. They raised it when the import tariff rose to nearly 30p per unit but that's now down to 23p. |
