Email from Eon today reminder my direct debit due £142 its currently £85. I'll have to phone them I'm well in credit (I know)
I hate phoning expecting to wait ages for them to answer less than 10 minutes not bad. After the usual questions she put it back to £85
I can apply to get credit back

Not had a bill since February. My meter broke at some point, and they replaced it with a new one, so I guess they don't know how much to bill me for the period that the meter was not spinning.
Continued to pay my DD, so now showing £500 credit. Of course that is not all mine, as I've not had a bill. Then they tried to reduce my DD to £15 per month. I changed it back until I know what I'm due them.
Worst of it was, I had to tell them that the meter had stopped. They can't spot that themselves. What's the point of smart meters if they can't tell when it's not working?

Interesting email from Octopus today. Tomorrow they're offering free electrickery between 1 and 2. As I understand it, anything over and above what you usually use at that time will be gratis. So as they say, go and do the hoovering and the laundry.
I'm eligible but can't see the point because I would be using the juice from the solar panels anyway.
Unless there's something I'm missing?

Forecast here for between 1 and 2 is heavy cloud so not too much solar. I'll put the car on charge and the immersion heater on which together draws 10kW, OK it will use some solar but far more grid electricity so worth it. Wondering about ethics of force discharging from the house battery 12-1 and then charging the house battery as well

I think there was very high wind supply during the week. Excess so the plunge pricing actually went negative for anyone who is on half hourly pricing? Ie they paid you to take their electricity away from them! G

Tempted to change to Octopus, as it's now 6 months since I've had a bill from British Gas. I just don't know what would happen to my credit.
I have over £600 in credit in my BG account. However, that's obviously not really mine as if they had been billing me correctly then my account should be roughly 0.

I've seen that before, when there's been a glut of solar and wind power. Great if you have an EV or storage battery and actually get paid to charge it up.
Cloudy and drizzly here today. The only way I can use a lot of free juice would be to run the oven but I have no need to. Oh well, but it's a good idea for those who can fill their boots.
