Cook, Carberry, Trott, Pietersen, Bell, Root, Bairstow, Broad, Swan, Finn, Anderson.
Anderson will be fine. They'll go with Finn.
Bairstow will score ton and take lots of amazing catches. Root double ton. Carberry will fail twice.
Ballance in for second test match - ton on debut.
England win the series 4-0

Alternatively...
Old iron gloves (AKA Bairstow) will have a shocker dropping a record 27 catches, England will lose by an innings and 645 runs, Prior won't recover in time for the second test and next-in-line Buttler falls down the stairs at the shock of getting a call-up. So they (Gooch and Flower) turn to someone who is actually the best glovesman in cricket, James Foster, not least because he actually speaks properly but also because he comes from a proper county. So emboldened are the seamers by having someone who will actually snaflle everything, that Australia actually fail to get past a total of 50 for the remainder of the series. England win 4-1.
I'm sure I can get Ravi Bopara and a few others into this somewhere.
Maybe this is a little more speculative than Fozz's effort...

Morning Fraggers, morning everyone.
It's today!! Well tonight at least....anyone else going to stay up for the first few overs, let's hope it's a dull start otherwise I might not be able to drag myself away.
Radio reports this morning sound good for Prior, let's hope he remembers how to bat as well, poor series last time.
Anything avoiding defeat will be an excellent start for us, but as ever I'm fearful....Aus to win toss, bat and rack up 550

Good morning Sarrers, morning everybody.
I presume everyone is staying up for the first ball at the very least. I certainly will be.
I refuse to make any serious predictions...

Morning Tea, morning everyone.
I'm feeling quite positive about today, and that we'll get off to a good start.
Let's go down to third man to see what he has to say...

Morning all - With regard to what Teaboy said over the page about the nervousness for the upcoming series..... I think the scoreline over the summer flattered England greatly and they could easily have been in deep trouble - it just needed a couple of toss-loses and it all could have been different.
Predictions KP will breakdown, England will be shown to be a bowler light, Swann to be in-effective, At least one Aussie batsman will play out of his skin.

hmmm, I don't know about flattered, Aussies disiintergrated at Durham, and were well beaten in another game, perhaps 2-1 would hav ebeen fairer. Still I agree somewhat, I think Australias bowling looks better than ours, and our batting better than theirs, so it could be close. On that basis I have placed my Money on a siries draw 9/2, with FInn to be top england wicket taker (dodgy) and Trott to be top england run scorere (cook not playing well, KP to break down as above, Bellwon't do so well again), Carberry to be found out.....
