morning, my dear old things!
I'd hope that Finn gets the gig; neither Tremlett nor Rankin have claimed the place, so pick the youngest tall quick

Tremlett looks like a wasted place on the tour to me, no form for a year, Finn does get wickets (hmmm not always). The batting looks solid enough, although come the series I think Carberry might get found out throwing the bat at a bouncing ball. I can see root doing well further down the order, but Prior is a worry, he has quite an input to the team. I also saw that again the aussie batting is suspect, but thir bowling is better than ours, it will be close.

samey as in Pace-wise. Anderson is brilliant and has learnt to bow in Australia, Broad is new there so unknown how he will do, Tremlett has no form, Rankin is new, Finn could do well but will leak runs, so I reckon we're hoping rather than knowing what we will get.

Tremlett might have had form if they had picked him for the Durham match where we rlied on a session of brilliance from Broad. He was busy knocking them over left right and centre for Durham.

Morning Wriggers, morning everyone.
A worry over a number of our players really. I am hoping we are at that stage where players fiddle about in warm ups and test series that don't really matter or are not that close but once they are really challenged they have the ability to step up and find their best.
I'm looking forward to it, I like the timing, means TMS when I get up at 5:30am for a swim, or drive to work etc.

Finn should get the gig on form. I get the feeling that the commentators are talking him down -although he took 5 wickets he was then criticised for being expensive.

Morning Doccers, morning all.
Think most of the press think Tremmers will get the gig, seems to have impressed Saker in the nets and looked good last time in Oz, until injured.
I'm worried about Anderson. Looked a little short of nip at times in the summer, and if still without that he will be the bowler he was in his 'mid career' - able to take wkts on a raging green top in a cloudy day, but no threat and will get carted with a Kookabura (sp?) on a hot day in Oz.
Looking forward to it, 2 days to go
My series prediction is Australia 3 England 1.

Good morning everybody.
I love that we are 8-2 over the last 3 Ashes series (10-8 over the last 5, even including the whitewash in 06/07) and yet every Englishman is still filled with dread at the possibility of what the Baggy Greens might do to us.
I think Tremmers will get it too. I think the England management think that Finn is too expensive.
