Helegant
This is week six, so just over five weeks of feeling ill. I'm guessing the cough will disappear in a couple of weeks.

Interesting but scary post elsewhere from fit friend which someone here may find useful
;

Hi everyone. After not recovering as I would have expected and still getting symptoms (fatigue, headaches and pain/ache between my shoulder blades and in my chest) I pushed to get some investigations done. Glad I did as a scan showed up I have a Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot in the lung) as a result of Covid - an ITU Consultant had told me that this was one of the features of Covid and I should get it investigated.
In the last couple of days I have heard of a few other cases of people who, like me, had definite symptoms of Covid19 but not unwell enough to need hospital care. They also did not recover well and turned out to have clots or other issues. It makes me wonder how many others there are struggling on with treatable conditions as a result of Covid
Please, if you or anyone you know has ongoing persistent symptoms, go to the doctor and see if you need them investigated. I am lucky enough that between my job and my running I knew that things just weren’t right so made sure I was going to get some answers. I am now on blood thinners, I’m doing ok and am told I will make a full recovery, but it’s going to take time.
Another thing I have been told is that I was lucky that I was as fit as I am (or was) and that this has protected me from being more seriously unwell, so please also stay safe but keep as fit as you can.
Feel free to share this or DM me with any questions if there’s anything I can help with.
Take care everyone, Stay safe, wash your hands, don’t be a Covidiot.

Poor breathing patterns is a common feature after Covid, I only realised how bad mine is when I saw myself breathing with my upper chest on zoom. Here are some self help guides from a special interest group I am a member of, it is important to reset the breathing after Covid, pneumonia or anything else that has interrupted the normal breathing pattern

People have messaged me about persistent dry cough once they have otherwise recovered, here is a useful handout by Respiratory Physio Guru Alex Houghton, lots of other useful info on her website
