Local surgery offered both OH and I an appointment for both COVID and flu early October.

Tested positive again yesterday, 4th official bout of it. Had 2 things that felt very similar this year but negative tests both times. Was at the theatre on Sunday, it was full, 1500 people apparently, heard someone coughing (different from the usual general coughs) mid show, though might not have been them. Sore throat, slight cough Tuesday, felt rotten Wednesday, tested yesterday, immediate positive (before stick had soaked the control) and eventually stronger than control.

Despite spending so much time with Daughter, Husband and I both managed to avoif it. I did have a couple of days feeling a bit under the weather - but continually tested negative. I am very surprised as well as relieved. I have booked a jab as I “regularly look after an elderly, ill or disabled person” (mum is pretty much all three at the moment ) and the pharmacy tell me they’ll give me a flu jab at the same time. |

Rosehip My OH had it about 18 months ago and I didn’t get it. No idea who I’ve picked it up from! We’ve just come back from my nieces wedding in Prague so being on the plane is a likely cause but no one else in the wedding party has come down with it so far 🤷🏻♀️ |

Checked on the NHS site and saw as an over 70 I can just go to any available vaccination centre for the latest booster. Saw local chemist had signs up so nipped in there today with my driving licence for ID (which I didn't need) and my NHS number ... and had my jab about four mins after walking through the door. So efficient and NOTHING these days. Woman on the desk asked if I'd like a flu jab as well, said yes and there was just a short wait - less than ten mins to have that too. Both in my right arm please as I'm left handed. As per I will be going to track tonight - I'll be throwing and I wasn't going to risk any weakness in my throwing arm! (Have to say I can't feel anything atm, two hours later. |

No appointment needed. So efficient. Am now all jabbed up ... hurrah! I never bothered with flu jabs 'til Covid but kind of feel it's my civic duty to have both now. |

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
No vaccines available at my surgery yet, booked Covid jab at nearby centre and will pop in chemist for my flu jab, unless I am offered it along with covid jab.

We’ve just come back from my nieces wedding in Prague so being on the plane is a likely cause but no one else in the wedding party has come down with it so far 🤷🏻♀️ I had my second bout a couple of weeks ago, plane from a business trip is the most likely source by the timing, but my colleague who was sitting directly behind me got away with it. Double shrug. |
