The Scribbler - If she's still in hospital, I wouldn't go unless I'd had two days of clear tests, and would still mask up even if I had a clear test.

If going to her home, I'd aim to stay outdoors (if the weather's good) and only go indoors with a mask.

If I hadn't got a clear test, I wouldn't go at all. I'm quite conservative when it comes to covid though (I know I'd struggle mentally if I thought I'd given it to someone who then suffered).

It took me 21 days for my first negative test. I kept away from my 88 year old father until day 12 when I had to see him to sort out some medicines and food, but I still wore a mask and didn't get too close. Generally it sounds like day 10 would have been OK but I think there is no harm in being cautious.

Thanks. My mum discharged herself from hospital and is actually now getting the physio she needs at home.

I’m on day 4 of isolation and symptoms have gone, so I’ll remain cautious and limit interactions in the hope of seeing my family on day 10 or 11.

I’m optimistic because Mr S has managed to stay clear.

I thought OH was staying clear but got a very firm second line yesterday :-( My second line is much fainter today but still there. Symptoms have changed - cough improved but blocked nose/sinus worse (though I suspect grass pollen may be partly to blame for that.)

Hugs to all and hope symptoms stay mild - and Mr S stays clear.

Interestingly, Monday's lft was faint (but definitely there) - I had got a new persistent cough so had symptoms. Friday's line was very definite and came up very quickly and then did one yesterday afternoon and the line was very faint. Today had no line (or symptoms) so felt able to go for a short walk (day 6 I think as is Monday day 0?). I blogged yesterday about my experience...

Test showed quite a strong positive this morning on Day 6, so I’ll be remaining cautious and staying reasonably isolated for a bit longer.

I did go for a walk outside this morning though. I needed that!

My wife and I were both positive for 8 days, and were able to stay isolated for that length of time. Hope it clears up soon for you.

Day 9 (taking the day of my first positive as day 0) and I've a negative LFT :-) OH's line is still pretty firm but he's only on day 4. I hope he's as lucky as me so we can get away to the seaside next week.

My mother in law is positive even though had booster mid April. It’s her first covid infection. She said there’s a new variant.

Has anyone seen evidence of that? I’ve stopped following covid news.
