Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

There are times when it’s hard to keep politics separate from Covid.

It would seem that Scotland is about 2 weeks behind England on easing the restrictions, I do prefer a cautious approach and I know it’s not easy when folks are worried about their jobs.

I won’t be rushing to the shops when they reopen although I could do with new running shoes.

I wish we had Nicola in England. But wouldn't wish Boris on anyone.

I see enclosed shopping centres will still have to wait a bit before they could open

i think the future could have further localised aspects to releasing the lockdown as the numbers come down but pockets of virus occur, so the difference in the devolved governments could seem more normal then.

Re the track & trace app switch.

I'm not concerned - always saw the approach as similar to R&D (like vaccine or treatment research), best to cover as many options as possible. If one fails, or one proves better, no great loss overall.

Night owl. I want to reply to your Nicola comment but that’s not for this thread. What I will say is That way back in the early days she published an exit strategy long before Boris. But now she is taking a slower approach.
